My Witch Hat

Hello Friends,

Getting ready for Halloween..I made this witch hat and I just LOVE how it came out. It started out with a paper mache witch hat I got at Michaels. I painted it black, let it dry, applied Plaid crackle medium, let completely dry..it will be tacky but it should feel dry. Apply contrasting color ~ Making Memories Grapsicle. While paint is drying take black crepe paper and stitch running stitch through one side of paper. this will give you a ruffle. Spritz with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Popsicle and Black Magic. The sparkly center on the hat is a rosette cut from Tim Holtz rosette die. Distressed with Dusty Concord Distress Ink. Ribbon is Recollections sold at Michaels. I used Glue Dots to affix ribbon, ruffle and rosette to hat.

  1. Oh my gosh Kim, this is AWESOME! I have to CASE this! I love how you decorated this hat and I'm thinking it would make a fab centerpiece on a table! I know I have black crepe paper...somewhere...I better go look for it! Thanks for the fantastic inspiration!
